Jason Roy has been a great inclusion into the team and in good batting form, unfortunately no Kolkata Knight Riders batsman gave him support. The Centurion from the previous game, Venkatesh Iyer showed his inconsistent form yet again, (a reason for his omission in the Indian team) played a loose shot to get out early. The southpaw does not show temperament and does not have the knack to carry his good form to the next game. His talent allows him to make 100 at will but his inconsistency needs to be addressed. Too many failures between a good game. Andre Russel has been quite for most games . His contribution or lack of it is hurting the team. It may be a good move to send him early to play few quite overs to get set before he can explode. Bowling has been the stronger suite for Kolkata Knight Riders and the bowling unit was able to fight and ruffle few feathers of the Delhi camp in their chase of a small total. The Eden Gardens will suit Kolkata Knight Riders more than Chennai Super Kings and they should take advantage of it. They have to be careful of the opening pair of Chennai Super Kings, considered to be the best currently in this competition.

Chennai Super Kings had an easy win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home turf in the last game and the bowlers were able to restrict the Sunrisers Hyderabad inform batting line-up to a defendable total. Dhoni and Co made to look the Chennai pitch difficult to bat on with some sheer disciplined bowling and when Chennai Super Kings came on to bat , the strip became an easy one to bat on.

The Chennai Super Kings openers had a great start and the openers especially Devon Conway made the target look like child’s play. It was a game the Chennai bowlers won for the team as the Sunrisers Hyderabad team could not read the pitch well. They will be travelling to the Eden Gardens and the pitch will suit the slow bowlers.
