Wankhede is a batsman’s paradise and very unapologetic to the Bowlers. The pitch is even and has bounce which will help the ball to come to the bat well. It remains true for both innings and is a ground difficult to defend.  The ground too is not as big as India’s other grounds.

India recently won the Border Gavaskar 4 match Test Series against Australia, 2-1 and cemented their place in the World Test Championship Finals. Now, The Indian Team will clash again with their arch rivals Australia in the 3 match ODI Series.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya will captain the side. Similarly, Steve Smith will captain the ODI Squad in the absence of Pat Cummins

India will miss Shreyas Iyer who will not only miss the ODI series due to a recurring back injury but also may miss few matches of the IPL. Shreyas Iyer is the captain of the KKR Squad.

Virat Kohli will be high on confidence after his 186 in the last test against Australia. The last ODI series India played was against Sri Lanka and Virat had scored 2 hundreds. In the 3 match series Virat will also aim at completing 13000 runs in ODI after Sachin Tendulkar (18426), Kumar Sangakara(14234), Ricky Ponting( 13,704) and Sanath Jayasuriya (13,430.
