Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will play their second game of the Indian Premier League in Chennai, at the Chepauk Stadium

While Chennai will be hurt from their last game, they will know this is a long tournament and they would try to bring in some change for this game. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s innings of 92 was one of the top innings played in all IPL seasons and he will look to take his form forward to the next game. CSK only used 5 bowlers including 3 spinners to complete their 20 overs against Gujarat Titans but in the Chepauk, Dhoni will rely more on spin and we will see Moeen Ali also rolling his arm. Rajvardhan Hangargekar had a good outing but the Mumbai bowler Tushar Deshpande had a nightmarish game leaking 51 runs in 3.1 overs with an economy of 15.31. Dhoni may still want to go with the same team and hope to get better performance from Devon Conway and Ben Stokes.  Ravindra Jadeja should move up the order. Dhoni is reluctant to come up the order and he actually plays in the team as a pure wicket keeper with the odd last over to bat. This will prove expensive for the CSK franchise in the long run.

Confident with their last thumping win against Delhi, KL Rahul and his men will be a confident bunch when they take on the Chennai Super Kings. On paper LSG looks a far superior team as compared to the CSK and this may end up being a one sided match. KL Rahul will need to iron out few issues, they faced in the last encounter against Delhi. Sending Krunal Pandya ahead of Nicholas Pooran or Marcus Stoinis made no sense.  Badoni showed glimpses of his talent with some late hitting. LSG should stop the Krunal experiment and given Nicholas Pooran more game time. He is very inconsistent but when he is in form, KL should take advantage of it. Jaydev Unadkat had a poor game and most likely may sit out for this game. This may well be the season of Kyle Mayers

Dhoni would slow down the game and would like to derail the hard hitting LSG batsmen. Spin will be brought early and may be used to keep Mayers quite. LSG batting can handle the spin but should be vary that CSK is coming into the game with a loss in the opening game which will make them dangerous. Form of Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali will be the key deciding factor in this game for CSK. LSG may play an extra spinner in place of Jaydev Unadkat
