After Match 2 of the Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders play host to Punjab Kings for match no 53 in the second leg match between the two. Match will be held at the Eden Gardens on the 8th May 2023.

This loss would have dented Punjab King’s confidence as they were unable to defend a score of 214. Mumbai Indians chased the total with more than an over to spare.
Kolkata Knight riders have played 10 games with 4 wins and 6 losses. They are in 8th position while Punjab Kings have played 10 games with 5 wins and 5 losses. They are in 7th position. Kolkata Knight Riders cannot afford anymore losses if they wish to have their hopes to make it to the playoffs.
Kolkata Knight riders have been relying on their youngsters like Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana while their big guns like Andre Russel and Suniel Narain have been inconsistent and unreliable.
Punjab Kings have been the surprise package as they have packed punches above their weight in the tournament and can be hopeful to reach the playoffs. Though the road to the playoffs for them will not be an easy one. Kolkata Knight Riders will be their first hurdle from hereon.
