Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat (DC vs GT) Titans Match Preview

Delhi Capitals will host their first home game against Gujarat Titan on the 4^th April. This will be the 7^th Match of the tournament and the Arun Jaitely Stadium, Delhi will see fans want to see their home team play better brand of cricket from their first one. With most teams having played one game, and with the new Impact player rule, teams will be better prepared to make their team. With the first game loss against the Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi would want to open their account . With Gujarat Giants in great form, Delhi would have their work cut off in this game and would need to play their best game . They will also need to look at the run rate closely as the defeat with a huge margin in the first game will have a hit on the run rate

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Delhi may need to bring in a better bowling performance in the absence of Nortje who was sorely missed in the first game. Kyle Myers took the Delhi bowlers to the cleaners and they will need a change in the bowling unit to avoid a similar treatment from the Gujarat Giants batsmen. Delhi should play to their strength and bat the opposition out of the game. They missed the trick in the last game by choosing to bowl first after winning the toss. The last game could have had an absolute reversal had Khaleel Ahmed not dropped a dolly of Kyle Myers who took the bowlers apart for his 73 of 38 balls with a strike rate of 192. Delhi should focus on their strength and play aggressive cricket. The Experiment with a part time wicketkeeper was a failed one and Warner may rethink on his Wicketkeeping options.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

On Paper, Gujarat Titans don’t look a team which can beat some of the strong teams in this tournament, but time and again they have proved this wrong by playing as a cohesive unit and winning games. They do not rely on individual brilliance to take them home and that is their biggest strength. Teams can’t plan their strategy as Gujarat Titans are flexible and with David Miller and with Smith coming into the team in place of injured Kane Williamson, batting will be very dangerous. They However would be mindful that their strong bowling did not have a good day against CSK conceding 178 runs. However, No changes are expected.

Pitch Report

Arun Jaitely Stadium is known for its slow and low bounce pitches. This being the initial phase of the tournament, we may see some juice in the pitch and may assist the fast bowlers initially. It will later on be a belter of a wicket. With small boundaries, expect tlots of 4s and 6s. Delhi may want to put the runs on board and Gujarat Titans who prefers to chase a target may like to field first . This is a toss, where both the teams may get what they wish. All the spinners from both teams will get purchase from the wicket as the game progresses
