Delhi Capitals have qualified for the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) Playoffs with 10 points.
Being one of the most consistent teams in the tournament, the team has been led by Meg Lanning and has won five out of their seven matches so far.
Delhi Capitals beat second-placed Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on consecutive nights to solidify its position at the top.
10 points on the points table has guaranteed Delhi Capitals a place in the knockout phase. They will, however, want to win their last game in the group stage and remain table toppers. This will guarantee them a direct place in the Finals (if the results of some other games go their way).
While the table topper will go directly into the Finals, the second and third-position teams in the points table (after the group stage) will play in the Eliminator.
The winner of the Eliminator game will meet the team in the Final for the Title clash.
Delhi Capitals has become the first team to qualify for the knockouts of the Women’s Premier League (WPL)
Delhi Capitals have one more game left in the group stage against the Gujarat Giants. A win will consolidate their position at the top.
Delhi Capitals have been unlucky in the last 2 seasons, losing in the finals, once against Mumbai Indians and second against current defending champions Royals Challengers Bengaluru.
They will be keen to have their place in the Finals.

The Contenders
The champions of the Inaugural WPL season, Mumbai Indians, have also played consistent cricket but have lost both their crucial group games to Delhi Capitals.
They will have 3 games left: against UP warriors, Gujarat Giants and RCB.
Currently in second position, Mumbai Indians also have a chance to top the table and be in the Finals if they can win all their remaining matches and have a better run rate than Delhi Capitals.
In third Position currently is the UP Warriors, who have shown some great fighting spirit.
They will have 3 games left: against Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, and RCB.
They, too, can top the table if they win all games with a better run rate and if Delhi Capitals lose their last game.
In Fourth position currently is the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who has blown hot and cold in the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had a horrid show in their home games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, losing all their 4 games in front of their home fans.
If RCB manages to win the two remaining games, they can qualify for the eliminator.
They will play UP warriors and Mumbai Indians in their last 2 games in the playoffs.
At the bottom of the table are the Gujarat Giants, but they share similar points with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
They have one game more than the defending champions, and this will help them to edge over RCB to make it to the eliminator if they can win two out of their 3 games left.
They will play UP Warriors, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in their last 3 games of the playoffs.
The Women’s Premier League has surpassed expectations and the crowd in the stadiums only resonates the fact that WPL is an extremely successful tournament like the Indian Premier League.
Women’s Cricket is in good hands and will continue to grow.
